Lanterns on the Water

Glowing shades of peach and gold painted the sky over the water.

Little girls sold lanterns that could be released to float down the canal.

The streets lined with old buildings were covered in bright colored lanterns too.

A walking market sat on the far side of the bridge with souvenirs, street food and ambience like nowhere else.

During the day, town is a bit sleepier.

Tourists ride bikes on the outskirts, or stay inside to hide from the heat.

Locals work or rest out of sight.

Rice paddies and little farms surround the city.

As night comes everything begins to glow again.
